Spoilers ahead for GoT & Silicon Valley
Show #1: Game of Thrones Yep, of course I am going to talk about one of the greatest shows of all time. This season was one of the best for the show, with constant action and constant cliffhangers. The only exceptions were episode 7 and 8, which were slow but worth the drudgery. Last season was not very eventful for the show, so it was nice to have this sort of redemption to bring the audience back into Westeros. A lot of the season was predictable (basically everything about John Snow's arc), but there were also quite a few moments of uncertainty which left me on the edge of my seat. I was glad to see that Arya finally did something and Dany actually ended up leaving Mereen. The season finale which just aired this past Sunday featured an unimaginable amount of main character deaths, reducing the character count by almost half. It will be interesting to see the remaining characters fight for the Iron Throne, and I am all ready for the next season. Apparently there will only be two more seasons, so let the action commence! | Show #2: Silicon Valley Silicon Valley had a rough start when its first season aired a few years ago, but it finally seems to have found the perfect tone. This series is hilarious and keeps getting better as "Pied Piper" continuously falls into traps through its development. Thomas Middleditch (The Wolf of Wall Street) and T.J. Miller (Deadpool) really stand out as lead actors for the show. They are supported by an amazing support cast as well which includes Josh Brener (The Internship), Martin Starr (Knocked Up, This is the End, Superbad), Kumail Nanjiani (The Kings of Summer), Zach Woods (The Other Guys), and many other notable actors. This season was probably my favorite so far because the comedy was spot on and the cast works so naturally together. With "Pied Piper" finally completed, I am curious as to where the storyline will go next. I'm sure that there are plenty of other hurdles that the computer scientists/engineers will face as they continue to build the company and I am quite excited to see an expansion of "Bachmanity Insanity." |
