| | This movie looks pretty neat and Denis Villeneuve has established himself as a spectacular director. Arrival should be a groundbreaking sci-fi film with its star-studded cast. Its nice to see a lot of new roles for Forest Whitaker too! Hopefully Amy Adams will bring an Oscar-worthy performance to the mix as well. |
| | This looks like a Star Wars film without the dominance of lightsaber weapons. As a spin-off of the original trilogy, we see the true power of the franchise. These films will continue to come at us in the next few years and the unforeseeable future. The only real attraction for this film is the return of Darth Vader. Other than that, it seems like bait for Star Wars fans. |
| | This film is for a more sophisticated crowd that loves drama and action. The cast is older, the subject is familiar, and the director is innovative. Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard should make for a really good screen duo even with so many preceding World War II films. Also, Robert Zemeckis looks like he is reaching for another Oscar nomination with this one. The Walk was meh, so I hope Zemeckis looks back to his fantastic directing roots. |
