I've been watching the first season of Amazon's Mozart in the Jungle and I highly recommend checking it out. As an amateur violinist, I really appreciate the references in the show. The show focuses on a girl's ambition to be a part of the New York Philharmonic and also focuses on the new maestro of the orchestra played by Gael Garcia Bernal. Lola Kirke and Gael Garcia Bernal are both fantastic picks for the characters they play. Rodrigo (Bernal) is a fishy and suspicious character with an unknown background, but the audience cannot help but love his compassion for the arts. He brings in fresh perspectives for the orchestra in extremely non-traditional ways. Hailey (Kirke) on the other hand acts as a young woman looking to get her dream job. The two characters play off each other so well to create a comedy that is far different from any preceding show I've seen.
